Facebook is going to release Facebook mail on Monday. There’s no word yet on the released date for the Blackberry Facebook mail app or if its going to be integrated the current Facebook App. What make Facebook mail special is if they are going to use fb.com as the domain name making it  the shortest email address available.

One things for sure, looking at how the largest social network is getting excited about their new email product proves that email is still the most powerful communication tool. Stay tuned on Monday for the release and on when we can add Facebook Mail inside BIS.

Talhouse Blackberry Remote

I recently bought a new Jabra Bluetooth headset and accidentally found a really nice app to go along with my new headset. The app was created by Talkhouse a company dedicated to speech processing solutions. Talkhouse has created a music server software that can be controlled by voice commands using your Blackberry.

You just need to install the Talkhouse music server on a windows machine with Bluetooth. You then install the Talkhouse software for the Blackberry called Zak-a-Phone. After you install their Blackberry software you can pair via Bluetooth your server with your Blackberry.

Using the Bluetooth connection have now have a working Blackberry remote that you can control your music sever by speech recognition. Making song searches is fast, you just need to say the song you like and or use the keypad on your Blackberry to make a search. The order of songs is displayed in your Blackberry so change the order of the songs. I’m completely in love with this software and it work great for parties and events. Their Blackberry Software is free but you can show your support by purchasing a multiple playlist add on, but the music server still works and plays all the popular media formats including FLAC (lossless audio).

If your still waiting for the Blackberry OS6 update or using OS5, here’s a new update of the super fast Bolt browser. The new update supports HTML 5 and online backup for your bookmarks. The support for HTML 5 enables video and audio streaming support. Works great with playing podcast directly from the authors website, video streaming quality has been selective but plays most videos streaming sites that support HTML5.

Mobiquus

Mobiquus is a  software that works similar to the Gmail App but can be installed without using a data plan. Its not true push email which comes out in your Blackberry’s inbox but an applications that works by getting your email the moment it arrives in the server. There are two options for Mobiquus to get your email Push and Polling.  Using the polling feature you can set Mobiquus to get your email depending on how many minutes you allow it.

Using Mobiquus with an unlocked Blackberry I was able to get my mails with very minimal delay. I did change they setting to polling to conserve battery but using the Push mail function was very nice.

DropBox Blackberry Software

After a long wait, DropBox for the Blackberry is out. You can now enjoy most of the features DropBox has to offer. If your not familiar with DropBox its a great free online storage which allows you to stores all kinds of files online. Using DropBox you can share files to multiple computers or now multiple mobile devices. Using the DropBox Blackberry Software you can have a universal storage you can access anytime and anywhere.

MatercardSend – Blackberry Software

The race for the dominant mobile money transfer app on the Blackberry has just started. A year ago Paypal came out with their mobile money transfer app for the Blackberry, securing its users on being able to make transactions on their Blackberry phones.
Just recently credit card giant Mastercard released its money transfer app for the Blackberry. Using one of its companies to develop a Blackberry Software to managed its mobile money transfer called OboPay. Using their service you can send money to registered and unregistered users of Obopay. The recipients phone number serves as special ID and act as verifications for sending and receiving money. Payments can be sent with just entering simple details. Charges to all the payments are then deducted from your Mastercard.
Although Mastercard has a long way to go on getting the word out, low transfer fees and charges can work to their advantage in attracting more user to their service and Blackbery Software.

Godaddy Mobile for the Blackberry

As person who loves domain names, I was truely excited when Godaddy released a Free Software for the Blackberry. Finally a domain registrar listening to their clients, I’m was not surprise that Godaddy was the first but I’m hoping other major registrars would follow soon. Going to domain conferences you can clearly see domainers are Blackberry users the more registrars know about this, the more domain name apps for the Blackberry.

The new Godaddy app beats going to godaddy mobile regardless if your using the new Blackberry Torch. Using the Godaddy software you can search, register and even manage your domain names. You just need to have an existing account in Godaddy and log in using the app. There’s also a Godaddy mobile mail for customers who have existing Godaddy hosted emails.

Overall this is the best true domain name app for the Blackberry. Altough some Domain Registrars have mobile versions of their website the Zen like functions of the Godaddy App really makes domain registration easy on my phone.

WAZE BETA Blackberry

I often put my entire trust on my Garmin GPS to get me where I’m going. If I do things correctly I can get to my destination but getting there on time is a different story. Recently new Navigation manufacturers are starting to see the problem of road conditions and have added FM traffic reports in their devices.
