Facebook 1.6 is finally out! I've been waiting for this app for long time and I'm happy to say it was worth it. I'm so relieved they got over 1.5 and did something cool with their app like being able to write on the wall and getting it more integrated with the Blackberry environment. The strength of the Blackberry has always been their push technology, making a software that takes advantage of this is the right way to go.
Facebook 1.6 really feels solid and very stable on my Blackberry Bold and Curve. The notifications you get directly in your home screen is just great. New features like being able to see comments people made with your friends status updates is really handy and enables you to participate in the discussion faster that opening up facebook in your PC. Facebook 1.6 is a great addition to your phone, its around 800k but its worth the download.

I've had this for a couple of days and I am very impressed,
like the scrolling picture viewer, message intergration into
the main email and text messages section.

I have been trying to find Facebook app for Storm....no luck this one really sucks on Storm. And can't get it to work right. So be careful downloading it.

Problems I have noticed with 1.6---notifications come late if at all and the inability to open your own personal inbox on a whim without having to load the browser seems to be non-existent. There are still glitches as far as I am concerned and much more that they could do to this application to make it more useful.

Yea, I miss the version where u opened the app and your notifications were right there. I don't really care to have my berry slowed down just to keep reloading the same status updates over and over and over. Also, god forbid I get a message while writing one bc once I send the message, my notification goes away and I have to go to the site to see it and once u respond using the site, u have to keep going there. Crashes my berry often. Had to do a hard reset bc it changed a setting within the phone. But I'm completely addicted to the notifications and being able to upload my pics and view them with a scrolling slideshow. Is it worth the hassel, yes. And am I hopeful that a new update will change these problems? U bet.

No crashes and works smoothly on my Curve. Some delay, but not too bad. The very big thing missing is the FACEBOOK CHAT!! If anyone has tried the iphone FB application knows that blackberry FB application can be still greatly improved....
